Despite all of the technology that exists today that allows us to get through days without speaking directly to another person, contact and relationships are one of the things that everyone needs. We want someone to be there when we need any kind of support and sometimes that means asking for a favor. Don't be afraid of asking for a little bit of help every once in a while from the people who are closest to you. But make sure that you're offering your help to them as much as possible as well. This way they will want to help when the tables are turned and you need a favor. You should also try to make sure that you're not asking for help too often.

Weigh the size of the favor against the relationship that you have with the person you're asking. Think of how it would feel if they were asking you the same thing. But your sibling should not have a problem helping you pick out the perfect present for your parent's fortieth wedding anniversary. Be confident when asking for a favor but don't assume that the answer is always going to be yes. Even if you feel like you've been a perfect friend over the years and are always willing to help others out, it is their choice whether or not they are going to help you with what you need. The bigger the favor the more likely it is that they may not be able to help you.
